Kathmandu – Oya Inc., which is known for its popular event Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp (GEB), has launched a new venture –Oya School –on Saturday. The new subsidiary of Oya Inc. aims to bridge the gap between excellent minds and their dream university. Oya School will be focusing on students all over the world, with special emphasis on students from Asian and African nations.
Along with the launch, Oya School announced providing mentorship to students applying to the US colleges in the initial phase from Januray. “We have experienced mentors as well as alumni and current students of different top universities in the US with us,” said Khagendra Acharya, founder and chairman of Oya Inc talking about the vision of Oya School. “We will be providing the applicants with first-hand experience and insights into the application process while also shaping their applications to fit the colleges of their choice.”
The site for Oya School has already started operating. ‘Mentorship’ and ‘Refine Your Application Essay’ are the chief sections of Oya School’s site ‘oyaschool.com’ which will be started from January, whereas applying students can also get detailed profile of US colleges through the site. The ‘Share Your Experience’ section has been developed in order to help applicants know the experiences of alumni, current students, and tutors of colleges in the US. The ‘Blog’ section has a plenty of articles that help students in understanding the application process better.
Oya School strives to replace the fraudulent institutions which are calling themselves education consultants, charging unnecessary processing charges, and still providing low-quality services to students, according to its founders. “In a country like Nepal, our startup is sure to increase awareness in students regarding the process of applying to US,” added Acharya. The combination of information, mentorship, and discussion will help the students achieve their potential through Oya Schhol’s platform.
OYA Inc. has been operating internationally ever since its establishment and is mainly focusing on youths of developing countries while promoting entrepreneurship environment and runs several ventures like Oya Opportunities and Global Entrepreneurship Bootcamp (GEB).
